/ I’ve been watching Grace and Frankie on Netflix with Turbo (the link is to an interesting review on Indiewire regarding its place in the feminist canon). I mention it here only because Lily Tomlin has been graced with some wonderful pieces of contemporary jewellery to wear as Frankie. That’s interesting on a few layers (which will be even more front-of-mind if you read the link) but you knew that already 😉
/ I have some works going on display in Sydney in the Perfect Mutations exhibition that’s coinciding with the 2015 Jewellers and Metalsmiths Group of Australia conference (Aussies, please tell me you’re going! Support your tribe! I’ve now got a mole to fill me in on what happens at the Pravu Mazumdar lecture, but it won’t be the same…)
PERFECT MUTATIONS: An exhibition that includes 45 diverse jewellery and object artists. (Postcard above thanks to curator Michelle Genders – look at all those names: WHAT. A. SHOW. !) Opening: 6 to 8pm Wednesday 08 July 2015. Exhibition continues: 09 July to 19 July 2015. Chrissie Cotter Gallery Sydney, Pidcock Street, Camperdown. Hours: Thursday – Sunday, 11am-4pm
/ I received a Merit award in the Objects section at the recent 2015 Taiwan International Metal Craft Competition! The exhibition is now on view at the Gold Museum in Taiwan, and will travel in Taiwan and then onto the US at the end of the year. Check it out from:
/ THANK YOU! to everyone who viewed my video on the SNAG TV site in the lead-up to the SNAG conference in Boston last month. I won the Make section of the competition, and bagged myself a one year membership to Snag for our collective efforts! Tell me you clicked on the link the next time I see ya and I’ll buy you a coffee 😉
/ SEATTLE! We’re preparing you an ah-maze-ing Symposium lineup for this year’s 20th anniversary of the Northwest Jewelry and Metals Symposium. (Of course, that’s also open to anyone else planning to be in the PNW around the 18th of October.) I don’t want to blow the ole horn too much, but it’s the best roster of talent I’ve seen assembled here yet… #justsayin
