Nothing Goes to Waste
February 5 – May 7, 2022
This exhibition showcases a survey of artists who find exciting ways to reuse and repurpose materials, scraps, and castoffs through ingenuity. Highlighting works created from discarded materials like ceramic shards, cut paper, and marble remnants, the exhibition explores how salvaged material can inspire creativity and provoke curiosity about the impact various industrial and artistic processes have on the ecology of the planet.
HCCC is open Tuesday – Saturday, 10 AM – 5 PM. Admission is free. Closed major holidays. HCCC is located in the Museum District at 4848 Main Street, three blocks south of the Wheeler Ave. MetroRail station. Free parking is available directly behind the facility, off Rosedale and Travis Street.

Thanks to the work of Susie Ganch I have a piece in this show at Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, curated by Kathryn Hall. Three other Radical Jewelry Makeover alumni are also in the show, Erica Bello, Adam Whitney, and Curtis Arima, and from the images I’ve seen it looks pretty amazing. Obviously it’s not all jewellery, but the jewellery that is there is top notch, and beautifully displayed. If you’re in the area I encourage you to pop in!
Ms Ganch has been very busy wrangling pieces in her RJM stable – I have just signed another contract for several more of my works to head to North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh for April. I’ll keep you posted as there’s plans for a pretty big opening weekend around April 2nd.
