For those of y’all close to the traditional lands of the Ngarigo people, near Yanununbeyan National Park, you are in for a treat! Our friends at Bilk open their latest exhibition, Power Brooch (what a name, btw) this Saturday.

Power Brooch
Opening this Saturday 16 November 2024 11.00 am – 5.00 pmHelen Aitken-Kuhnen, Julie Blyfield, Jane Bowden, Melissa Cameron, Jane Dodd, Marian Hosking, Kath Inglis, Kazuko Inomata, Svenja John, Kaori Juzu, Eugenie Keefer Bell, Johannes Kuhnen, Mio Kuhnen, Zachery Lechtenberg, Larah Nott, Michaela Pegum and Sean O’Connell.
With this exhibition, we wanted to showcase how Artists communicate their jewellery’s capacity to express ‘Power Brooch’, whether it is subtle, express sentimental connections or even convey part of the personality of the wearer. Brooches can also be powerful by reflecting status, have a hidden agenda or even secrets by communicating what sometimes cannot be directly vocalised.
Through a diverse and unique range of makers who have created a wide selection of brooches and pins ready to adorn the chests of the most discerning men and women. Many of these brooches exhibit conceptual adventures, technical skill, new directions and the exploration of jewellery’s capacity to express sentimental connections all find a place in the show.
Please join us on Saturday 16 November to celebrate the opening with fruit punch and sangria. We will all be wearing brooches and encourage you to join us.
