rapidlyclosingwindow... #3/Ngarngk

with Brendan Moore

2023

Made for the Er pavilion at the Fremantle Biennale, a temporary space erected next to the J Shed, in consultation with Brendan Moore, who gifted the Noongar word Ngarngk = mother/sun, to the project. Made with the assistance of architect and educator Katherine Ashe and students at Notre Dame university, and the greater Walyalup community.

The work reads Ngarngk in stainless mesh overlaid onto the net, which itself is in colour-coded binary rope circles. When decoded, this reads: rapidly closing window of opportunity to secure a liveable & sustainable future for all | IPCC 2023 *
