Juukan Tears

In May 2020 Rio Tinto destroyed the Juukan Shelters containing sacred caves used by the traditional custodians, the Puutu Kunti Kurrama and Pinikura (PKKP) peoples, for over 46,000 years. Left is the Rio Tinto building drawn in teardrop shapes, right are chains made from 4,600 teardrops, to show 10% of the history lost when the Shelters were destroyed. The background reads, viadiffernet lengths of metal to indicate modified Morse Code “Juukan Shelters destroyed for … iron ore”
